I made this for my co-workers and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! It was gone within the hour!
Texas sheet cake
1 C. Water
1/2 C. Oil
1 Stick Margarine
4 Heaping T. Cocoa
2 C. Flour
2 C. Sugar
1 t. Cinnamon
1 t. Salt
1 t. baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour milk or buttermilk (no subs!)
Icing:
5-6 T. milk
4 heaping T. Cocoa
1 Stick margarine
1 C. chopped pecans
1 box powdered sugar
Boil first 4 ingredients. In a large mixing bowl mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, and soda. Add eggs, and milk to dry ingredients and mix. Add boiled mixture to rest of ingredients. Pour into a greased 15 in. pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
While the cake is baking bring milk, cocoa, margarine, to a boil. Mix in sugar. (will be runny!) Add chopped nuts. Ice cake while hot.
