Mississippi Mud Cake
This cake is so good kids go crazy for it and this recipe will serve 30 or more
3 cups butter
3 cups water
12 tablespoons cocoa
6 cups flour
6 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup sour cream
3 teaspoons baking soda
6 eggs -- lightly beaten
***Topping:***
1 1/2 cup butter
18 tablespoons milk
12 teaspoons cocoa
1 pounds powdered sugar
2 jars marshmallow cream
3 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups nuts
Combine 1 cup of the butter, the water, and 4 tablespoons cocoa in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Stir in the flour, sugar, and salt until well mixed.
Stir in the sour cream, baking soda and eggs. Stir well until combined. Bake in a greased and floured baking pan (9x13) at 375 for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
While cake is baking, combine 2 jars marshmallow cream 1/2 cup butter, the milk,powdered sugar and remaining cocoa powder in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in , vanilla, and nuts until mixed. Spread over warm cake.
