DEVIL’S FOOD COOKIES
1 (18.5 oz.) pkg. Devil’s Food Cake Mix without pudding
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup coconut (optional)
6 (1.45-ounce) milk chocolate bars,
divided into squares (optional)
Preheat oven to 350. Combine cake mix, oil, and eggs in a large mixing bowl and mix well. Stir in the pecans. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto un-greased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets and cool completely on wire racks.
Optional: While the cookies are still on the pan, place 1 square of milk chocolate on each; spread gently to frost. Sprinkle with coconut. Yields about 5 dozen cookies.
