  • Wacky Cake... Or Susie Q cake

    This cake to me tastes like a Susie Q. Don't make it often cause only I & DD eat chocolate cake.

    Wacky Cake

    3 C flour
    2 C Sugar
    2 C water
    2 t baking soda
    6 T cocoa powder
    1 t salt
    3/4 C oil
    2 t vanilla
    2 t vinegar

    Mix ingredients together. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.


    Frost with Baker's Frosting for that Susie Q taste

    Baker's Frost

    Combine 1 C milk with 6 rounded teaspoonful of flour. Heat until thick.. STIR CONSTANTLY. Put in fridge til cold

    1 C butter
    1 C granulated sugar
    1 t vanilla

    Cream together then add cold mixture. Beat until fluffy

    Store frosted cake covered and in fridge. Soooo Yummmy

      it's got cocoa in it, isn't that what a choc cake is ?
      I don't want buns of steel. I want buns of cinnamon !!!

        It is a 9x13 pan.

        And yes it is chocolate cake but it is called Wacky Cake cause it doesn't use eggs like a typical cake recipe.

          This cake has many many names and is an oldie & a goodie too.

            Oh, that's right, i see there aren't any eggs in the ingredient list .....

              I remember drinking lots of beer in High School (noooo, not me!) and eating suzie q's!!

              Haven't seen them forever!

              Might have to get drunk and make these this weekend! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
