  • Most Dangerous Chocolate Cake

5 min. choc. mug cake-got this from someone at work. Really works, DS & I Made one awhile ago

    1 microwave-safe coffee mug
    4 Tbsp all purpose flour
    4 Tbsp sugar
    2 Tbs baking cocoa
    1 egg
    3 Tbs milk
    3 Tbs oil
a few choc chips if desired
    dash of vanilla flavoring

Add dry ingredients to the mug & mix well.
pour in milk & oil & mix well.
Add the choc chips if using & vanilla and mix again
Place the mug in the microwave & cook, uncovered for 3 minutes. The cake will rise over the top of mug but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little & tip out onto a plate if desired. Serves 2.

Why is the the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 min. away from choc. cake at any time of the day or nite!

What a neat idea only I don't own a microwave. A good recipe for those that like to give mugs and recipe gifts during the holiday season.

I found this recipe on another board and it really looked great. I did try it and did not like the texture or the taste. Maybe there was something wrong with my cocoa, or I just don't know. It was very, very dense. I thought maybe a touch of salt or something.

These are the instructions from the one I used:

'Spray PAM in mug. Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla essence, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will
rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.'

Rubes, I didn't think of that, & to cut fat & calories more, you could use the eggbeaters and skim milk.
Yes the cake isn't the same as oven cake but so much faster & no heating up the kitchen for a large cake that our family never seems to finish.

I live alone so this is perfect for me. I LOVE chocolate.

As for using skim milk - there is so little milk I doubt it would make much difference. However, I might use mashed banana instead of the oil.

Is the leavening, just the egg? Or, should there be some kind of Baking powder in there?

No baking powder, I think thats why its more dense.

Is it more like a brownie?

                          Re: Most Dangerous Chocolate Cake

I made this tonight. Someone had e-mailed it to me a long time ago, and I just got around to making it. The texture is a bit funky, but I thought it tasted good. I think it would have been great if I would have had a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some hot fudge to serve w/ it! That would be dangerous!!!!
