I have tried many apple recipes over the years and thought I would pass along the one most requested (along with the easy apple dumplings that I have posted several times) by my family.
The topping is more like a sugar cookie than your usual crisps.
Apple Crisp
enough pared, cored and sliced apples to fill a 1 quart dish
2-3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup flour
Grease baking dish; fill with apples; sprinkle with lemon juice and cinnamon.
Cream together sugar and butter; blend in flour. Sprinkle/spread evenly over apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes, until crust is lightly browned.
