MARS BAR CHEESECAKE
A yummy cheesecake made with Mars Bars (Milky Ways in U.S.)
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1 envelope of unflavored gelatine (this is an American recipe ..I assume
they mean a
sachet of approx 1 tablespoon)
1 cup milk
120g(9oz) Mars Bars (Milky Ways in US), sliced
1 lb (500g) cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup heavy or thickened cream
Method
Combine chocolate crumbs and butter and press into bottom and 2 inches up
the
side of an 8 inch springform pan. Chill. Sprinkle gelatine over milk in a
medium saucepan. Stir over low heat until gelatine is dissolved.Add Mars
Bars and continue to stir over low heat until mixture is smooth, cool
slightly. Meanwhile, beat cream cheese and sugar together until smooth. Beat
in Mars Bars mixture and vanilla. Add cream and beat at high speed for 4
minutes.Pour mixture into prepared crust. Chill until firm, about 4 hours.
If desired garnish with additional whipped cream and sliced Mars Bars.May
also be served with strawberry sauce: Puree 2 cups strawberries in a blender
with 1 tablespoon sugar.
