    BUNUELOS

    This is a crispy Mexican pastry

    2 cups flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 cup Crisco
    3/4 cup very warm water
    Sugar and cinnamon mixture


    Mix flour and powder. Add Crisco and mix until crumbly. Add warm water a little at a time just until forms dough. Knead the dough well.
    Make little balls out of all of the dough. Take one ball and roll it out until paper thin.

    Fry in Crisco until light brown and puffed. Drain and immediately sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture.

    Cover with foil and store in dry place. These do not keep well. They turn soft. Make the night before or day of that you need them.
