It's that time of year, and because of circumstances beyond my control, I did not get to make homemade ice cream last summer. So brace yourself......
Here is a refreshingly fruity recipe.
Six – Three’s Ice Cream
Juice of 3 lemons
Juice of 3 oranges
3 mashed bananas
3 tsp. Vanilla
3 large cans evaporated milk
3 c. sugar
3 ˝ pints whipping cream.
Mix all ingredients together and add milk to fill can. Makes 1 gallon.
And here is a "so sweet it will knock your socks off" recipe.
Butterfinger Ice Cream
6 regular size Butterfingers (crumbled)
4 eggs
3 c. sugar
2 T. sugar
pinch of salt
1 tall can evaporated milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 t. vanilla
Sweet milk to finish filling can
Beat eggs slightly. Mix flour, salt and flour. Add to eggs and beat well. Add can of milk, beat. Add condensed milk, rinse out can with sweet milk. Beat well. Add crushed butterfingers, mix with spoon. Our into freezer can, finish filling with sweet milk. Makes 1 gallon.
