  • Praline Cake Recipe

    I recently had a birthday, and maybe some of your remember eterry, well she brought me a birthday cake to the party. She did a variation on a recipe from allrecipes. It was really tasty.

    Recently I had this frosting, the recipe came from, but the
    person who served the recipe did something clever. She put the frosting on
    top of a buttered pecan cake mix. It was fantastic.

    - 1 buttered pecan cake mix
    - 1 cup light brown sugar
    - 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
    - 1/2 cup butter
    - 1 egg
    - 3/4 cup chopped pecans
    - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1. Prepare and bake cake mix according to package directions for a 9x13
    inch pan. When done, allow cake to cool and leave in pan. Preheat oven to
    400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
    2. In a large saucepan, combine brown sugar, flour, butter and egg. Cook
    over low heat for 3 minutes, or until thickened. Remove from heat and stir
    in pecans and vanilla. Spread over cake. Place in preheated oven for 8 to
    10 minutes.

    First of all Happy late Birthday wishes to you!

    This recipe/technique puts me in mind of the broiled icing cake.With the exception of,I think it had coconut in the icing for my recipe for it & the cake mix is a devils food cake.But I think that I would like yours just as much,if not better!
