This is my kids all time fav... and the funny thing is that it was a recipe my mom made when money was tight!
Boiled potatoes (sliced about 1/2 inch thick... enough to make 3 good layers in a casserole dish
1-2 packs of hotdogs (we only use beef)
white sauce
Velveeta cheese
White sauce is 1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk.
Melt the butter, stir in the flour and let it bubble for a minute or so and then slowly add milk and stir till thickened.
Spray casserole pan.
Place sliced hotdogs on bottom (either 1/2 pack or a whole pack... depending on how many hotdogs you want in there).
Place sliced potatoes on top of hot dogs making a thick layer.
Put thick slices of Velveeta on top.
Pour some of the white sauce on top.
Layer all again... hot dogs, potatoes, cheese, sauce.
Top layer is potatoes and cheese.
You should be able to see the sauce when you look down the sides... you can add a little milk if needed.
Bake at 350º till browned and bubbly... about 45 minutes.
