    Round Steak

    round steak
    canned mushrooms
    onions
    garlic
    seasoned salt
    pepper
    garlic powder
    onion powder
small amount of oil for frying

Wash steak and cut into pieces about 2 inches X 4 inches. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt and pepper on both sides. Fry in oil until browned a little. Remove from pan and put in a deep casserole dish. Cut onions and garlic and put in the same pan that steak had been fried in. Add canned mushrooms liquid and all and mix together. Season onions, garlic, and mushroom mixture with more garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt and pepper. Mix together again. Place on top of steak in casserole dish. Make sure liquid covers everything. If you don't have enough liquid from the mushrooms, you can add some canned beef broth or water and beef cubes or beef base stock, but if you use beef cubes or beef base stock, do not use salt, it will be salty enough. Adjust seasonings to taste. Cover and bake in a 325 degree preheated oven for 45 minutes. Check to make sure liquid still covers all and adjust as needed. Cover and put back in oven and bake at 275 degrees for 2 hours. The steak will be so tender you will be able to cut it with a fork. For a variety, you can also add some dry onion soup mix to the beef broth, but be careful of the salt. You can also put this in the crock pot instead of the oven if desired. The longer you cook it the more tender it gets as long as you make sure there is plenty of liquid to cover, but if you add more liquid don't forget to reseason. Serve with mashed potatoes and a favorite vegetable. The juice is great over the mashed potatoes too.
