    Stove Top Meatloaf

    1 can tomato soup
    1 1/2 pounds ground meat
    1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1 teaspoon salt
    pepper to taste

    Combine 1/4 cup tomato soup with meat and add rest of ingredients. Shape firmly into 2 loaves. Brown in 1 tablespoon shortening. Take off excess fat and add rest of tomato soup with 1/2 cup water. Cover and simmer for 1 hour on top of stove.
