Blue Cheese Oysters
Ingredients
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons butter, softened
8 shucked oysters, on the half shell *
Directions
Mix the blue cheese, garlic, breadcrumbs and butter in a small bowl. Set aside.
Arrange oyster shell halves (with oyster attached) on a baking sheet. Top 8 oysters with the blue cheese mixture. Bake at 350F (180C) degrees for 12 minutes.
Makes 8 oysters.
For This Recipe:
To shuck oysters, first scrub and rinse the oysters thoroughly in cold water to prevent grit from getting inside the shell. Next, work an oyster knife into the slit near the"hinge" of the shell. Twist the knife forcefully until the shell begins to pop open. Work the knife around the rest of the shell to open it completely.
