this one I got from TOH a few years back... one of my dad's favorites!
Sausage Sandwich Squares
3 1/2c. flour
1 pkg (1/4oz) active dry yeast
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/3 cups warm water
1lb. sausage
1 red pepper, diced
1 large onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
16oz shredded mozzerella cheese
1 egg
1 tbsp. grated paremesan cheese
1 tbsp. water
2 tbsp parsely
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
Combine 2c flour, yeast and salt. Add warm water. Mix well. Add enough remaining flour to form a firm douhg. On floured surface knead 6 min. Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Place in warm spot for 50 min. In skillet, cooks sausage, drain, then add peppers and onion. Press 1/2 of dough into 15x10x1in pan. Spread sausage mix over crust. Sprinkle with mozz. cheese. Roll out remaining dough to fit pan, place over cheese layer and seal the edges. In small bowl beat egg and 1 tbsp. water. Add remaining ingredients, mix well. Brush over dough. Cut slits in top. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into squares.
