Thank you NurseSweetheart! I made the cabbage roll casserole tonight and it's great! My DH looked at it at first and said "Uh oh, I don't know if I'll like the cabbage in this." He tasted it and loved it. I sprinkled a little red wine vinegar on mine (just a few drops) and I've just got to say, this one's a keeper. I only made half recipe and we've still got enough for another night.

If you love stuffed cabbage rolls, then you will love this. It is exactly the same taste in half of the time.

2 lbs ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 can (29 oz) tomato sauce
3.5 lbs Cabbage, chopped
1 cup uncooked white rice
1 tsp salt
2 cans of beef broth (14 0z)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large skillet, brown beef in oil over medium high heat until redness is gone. Drain off fat In a large mixing bowl combine the onion, tomato sauce, cabbage, rice and salt. Add meat and mix all together. Pour mixture into a 9x13 baking dish. Pour broth over meat mixture and bake in the preheated oven, covered, for one hour. Stir, replace cover and bake for another 30 minutes.
