Re: Soda Pop Beef~in Slow Cooker
No, I could not taste the sweetness of the soda, however, like Kayce I prefer coke.
It was pretty good!

Re: Soda Pop Beef~in Slow Cooker
I've made a similar recipe using a chuck roast,
1 envelope dry onion soup,1 can cream of mushroom soup and 1,12oz can coke,or pepsi.. cook on low 8-10 hours.I serve it with rice as it makes a nice gravy.

Buckwheat, did the soda make it sweet-tasting?

Soda Pop Beef~in Slow Cooker
This recipe came from my neighbor who called this "soda pop" beef.
I made the dish but did not use stew meat per se, I used cubed beef from a roast, and I threw in a few cloves of garlic.
Turned out very delicious!
2 pounds beef stew meat (or whatever)
2 19-ounce cans cream of mushroom soup
1 to 2 packages onion soup mix
12 ounces of lemon-lime soda
Mix it all together in your slow cooker and let it cook for about 6 - 6 & 1/2 hours.
Next time I may throw in some potatoes, or other veggie, hummmmTags: None
