Turkey breast cooked in the crockpot has been an ongoing discussion here and there have been lots of great recipes. However, I don't like a lot of seasonings or added flavors so here is what I did. I will never cook turkey breast any other way. It came out so moist and juicy and the cooking liquid is wonderful for soup.
I had a 5½lb.lb turkey breast. It was mostly thawed but still just a little icy. I washed it and rubbed with salt and pepper and put it in the crockpot. The last time I roasted a breast I made broth with the bone and trimmings so I used a cup of that liquid in the crockpot along with a couple of small shallots cut up and some whole black peppercorns. I put the pot on low and let it go for 10 hours. That was it.After I took it out of the pot and let it rest for about 30 min.I skinned and sliced it and put the bone, skin and trimmings in a pot and cooked some more broth so I'll have it ready for next time.
