3/4 CUP SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK
1/2 CUP WATER
3/4 T. VANILLA
2 t. DARK RUM
PINCH OF SALT
3 EGGS, LIGHTLY BEATEN
8 BAQUETTE SLICES, CUT DIAGONALLY 1 INCH THICK
OIL FOR FRYING
CINNAMON SUGAR OR POWDERED SUGAR FOR DUSTING
Mix the milk, water, vanilla, rum, salt & eggs together in a bowl.
Pour into a shallow baking dish.
Place the baquette slices in the egg mixture, then turn them over.
They should be completely submerged in the mixture.
Cover with plastic wrap and place in frig for at least 4 hours or even over night
In a deep fryer or skillet heat the oil to 375.
Fry the bread and few at a time until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
Drain on paper towels, and place them on a platter and sprinkle with whatever sugars you like.
