Gary Solomon's Cedar Planked Blackened Barbecue Salmon

1, 2-1/2 lb. Salmon fillet
vegetable oil
Rub:
1 Tbls. Kosher Salt
1 Tbls. sweet paprika
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
1 tsp. sweet basil
1 tsp ground chili pepper
1 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp. oregano
Place all rub ingredients into a coffee mill and grind until powdery.
Drizzle some vegetable oil over salmon fillet and brush to coat. Sprinkle the rub all over the salmon and rub. Place on a cedar plank (that has been soaked in water for 2 hours) and grill on barbecue on indirect flame. Cook for approximately 30 minutes. Serve with steamed white rice and a crisp green salad.
