  • Mandarin Beef Buns

    1 Tblsp oil
    2 cups shredded pork or beef
    1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
    1 cup chopped bok choy, napa cabbage or green cabbage
    2 Tblsp grated ginger root
    1 tsp grated orange peel
    1/3 cup green onion
    1/4 cup hoisin sauce
    1 16 oz pkg. hot roll mix
    1 beaten egg
    sesame seeds

    1. Fry meat in oil. Add red pepper.
    2. Add cabbage.
    3. Stir in ginger, orange, onion and hoisin. Mix well. Remove from heat and cool.
    4. Prepare hot roll mix and divide into 24 portions.
    5. On lightly floured surface, roll or pat out each ball into a 3 1/2 in. circle.
    6. Place 1 Tblsp filling on each bun. Pinch to close, sealing with water.
    7. Arrange seam side down. Cover and let rise 20 minutes. Brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

    Bake 375F for 15 minutes. Makes 24
