    Baked Steak:
    Serves 4

    1 tsp.salt
    1/4 tsp.black pepper
    1/4 c.all purpose flour
    1 lb.round steak,cut into 4 oz.serving pieces
    2 T.canola oil
    1/4 c.chopped onion
    1(10.75 oz.)can cream of mushroom soup
    1/2 c.water

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

    In a medium-sized bowl,mix altogether salt,pepper & flour.Dredge the steak pieces in the flour mixture,set aside.

    Pour the canola oil into a large skillet over medium high heat,add the steak pieces & onion.Cook till meat is browned & the onion translucent,5-10 minutes.Place in a 2 quart casserole dish.

    Combine the soup & water in the same skillet used for the steak,stir till all the browned bits from the cooked meat are mixed w/the liquid.Pour the gravy over the meat in the dish & cover tightly w/aluminum foil.

    Bake for 1&1/2 hours or till the meat is tender.
