I got this recipe out of a Cooking Light magazine. I have made it many times for family and friends and everybody loves it. And it reheats very well.

1 1-pound package of any uncooked short tube shaped pasta, like ziti
1 pound mild italian turkey sausage links
1 cup chopped onion, I use sweet yellow onions
    2 garlic cloves , minced
    1 tablespoon tomato paste
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 ( 14.5 oz ) cans of diced petite tomatoes, undrained
1/4 cup chopped FRESH basil ( don't use dried basil, it just isn't the same)
    Cooking spray
    1 cup shredded mozarella cheese
1 cup grated fresh parmesan cheese, not the stuff in the green can

    Preheat oven to 350
Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and oil. Drain the pasta and place in large bowl.
Remove casings from sausage. Cook sausage, onion and garlic in nonstick skillet over medium heat until browned, stirring to crumble. Add the tomato paste, salt, pepper and tomatoes, bring to boil. Cover, reduce heat, simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add sausage mixture and basil to cooked pasta, toss well. Place half of pasta mixture in 4 quart casserole dish, coated with cooking spray.
Top with half of mozarella and half of parmesan cheese. Repeat layers. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until bubbly. Yield : 8 servings.
I serve this with a green salad and crusty warm french bread. Smile
If it's just the two of us, I have successfully halved this recipe.
