    The malt in the beer gives this a richer flavor.

    Beer Rice

    2 TBS olive oil
    1 C uncooked long grain rice
    1 (10 3/4 oz) can condensed onion soup
    1 soup can beer (not a "light" beer!!!)

    Heat oil in a medium saucepan over moderate heat. Add rice, browning slightly, and stirring constantly. Add soup and beer. Cover tightly/ Simmer until all liquid is absorbed, 20-25 minutes. Serves 4-6
