1 can (14-1/2 oz) stewed tomatoes
3 cups chicken or beef broth
1 cup lentils
1 cup small pasta (orzo or tubetti)
salt and pepper
Puree tomatoes in blender. Add to saucepan and add broth. Bring to simmer over medium heat. Add lentils, cover and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Add pasta. Cover and simmer until lentils and pasta are tender and liquid is absorbed. Season to taste.
