    Macaroni,Tomatoes and Cheese

    1 (8oz) box of macaroni
    2 cans(large ones)diced tomatoes
    1- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar (depending on taste)
    salt and pepper
    1 (8oz) bag shredded cheddar cheese

    Cook macaroni according to box instructions, drain.

    While macaroni is cooking place tomatoes in a bowl, add to this the sugar, salt and pepper.

    When macaroni is done and drained, place macaroni in bowl with tomatoe mixture.Mix throughly.

    Place macaroni and tomatoe mixture in baking dish, sprinkle heavly with shredded cheddar, place in a pre-heated 350 degree oven and cook until cheese is melted and golden brown.

    You can also make a variation of this omitting the the cheese and the baking process and just have macaroni and tomatoes.

    my mom would make the same thing except 86 the cheese and add a dash of oregano and you add your own parm at the table

      DH's grandmother made this all his life and called poor man's spagghiti.
      It is still one of our favs. I use the cheese and sugar. Yummmm
