These are great, quick, and easy! Enjoy!
I made these into 2 8 x 8 pans, but you could probably use a 9 x 13 just as well. This is a variation of a recipe which I found.
"Not from Scratch" Stuffed Shells
3/4 of 12 oz. pkg. of jumbo shells (I used Mueller's)
1--1 1/2 lbs. hamburger meat (I use ground chuck, but I only use about 1 lb. as I don't eat a lot of meat.)
1/2 c. chopped onion (I didn't add this.)
1 large (2 lb. 13 oz.) jar of Ragu Parmesean/Romano version of spaghetti sauce
1 bag of string cheese (I bought Borden's 12 pk.)
3 c. of shredded mozzerella cheese
grated Parmesean cheese
1. Cook noodles and drain.
2. Brown and drain ground beef.
3. Add sauce to beef and simmer for about 10 mins.
4. Cut each piece of string cheese in half.
5. Stuff each shell with piece of cheese.
6. Put 1/4 of sauce into each casserole dish. (this will equal 1/2 of sauce).
7. Place stuffed noodles in dishes.
8. Put other 1/2 of sauce on noodles.
9. Sprinkle generously with grated cheese.
10. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 25-30 mins.
11. Remove from oven and evenly divide the shredded mozzerella cheese on each casserole.
12. Return to oven for about 5-10 mins. (without foil) or until cheese melts.
Each dish serves 3-4.
May want to serve with bruschetta as appetizer, salad, and garlic bread...
