Strawberry Pretzel Salad

This is my nephews most requested dessert and also my SIL often will bring this to family functions ~ good classic dessert.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

FIRST LAYER
2 cups coarsely crushed pretzels
3/4 cup melted butter
3 tablespoons sugar

SECOND LAYER
1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 medium carton Cool Whip

THIRD LAYER
2 small boxes strawberry jello
2 cups boiling water
2 small boxes frozen strawberries

Preheat oven to 400°. Put first layer in a 9x13x2-inch pan. Bake 8 minutes. Remove to cool.

Beat sugar into cheese, stir in Cool Whip. Spread over cooled pretzels.

Mix jello, boiling water and strawberries together and set aside 10 minutes. Pour over cheese mixture; chill thoroughly.

MY 1st Mother in law used to make this for my 1st hubby birthday I will ahev to send him this recipe. it will bring back sweet memories for him. She has been gone since 91 and he is still hurting like it was yesterday.
