Cheesy Garlic Grits:
Serves 4-6
3 1/2 c.water
3/4 c.White Hominy Grits
1/2 tsp.salt
1 c.(4 oz.)shredded cheddar cheese(For more heat Jalapeno Jack cheese may be substituted)
2 Tbls.butter
1 egg,beaten
1/8 tsp.garlic powder
Dash of red pepper sauce or ground red pepper
Heat oven to 350 degrees.Grease 1 1/2 qt.baking dish.
Prepare grits according to pkg.directions.Stir in remaining ingredients.
Continue cooking over low heat til cheese melts.Pour into prepared casserole dish,bake 30 minutes.Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
