  • 'Different' Green Bean Casserole by Lina

    We make this every holiday and will make it on easter. Smile I got this recipe from another board, but I foget the owner of this REC.. But YUM!!

    4 (14.5-oz) cans french-style green beans, drained
    cup defatted chicken broth (place in refrig. overnight, next day lift fat
    off with spoon)
    1 can Campbell's cream of celery soup
    1 large onion, fine dice
    3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
    1 tsp butter
    1 tsp dried mint
    6 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
    1 large can French's fried onion rings

    Saute onion and garlic in small amount of butter until translucent. Remove
    from pan. Fry bacon until crisp and drain on papertowel.

    In large mixing bowl, mix together green beans, chicken broth, soup, onion,
    garlic, mint and bacon pieces. Place in 9- X 13- x 2" baking dish. Cover with
    foil and bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove foil. Spread onion rings
    evenly on the top, place dish back in oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Watch closely
    as the onion rings tend to brown quickly. Remove when onion rings are golden
    brown
