    Baked asparagus in a brown butter balsamic sauce

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
    cooking spray
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 tablespoons butter
    1 tablespoon soy sauce
    1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

    DIRECTIONS:
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
    Arrange the asparagus on a baking sheet. Coat with cooking spray, and season with salt and pepper.
    Bake asparagus 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until tender.
    Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until its brown. Remove from heat, and stir in soy sauce and balsamic vinegar. Pour over the baked asparagus to serve.

    Yummy! I have been making this for years. Another requested recipe by dinner guests.

    Try grilling the asparagus, it rocks!

    I grill the asparagus (tossed with olive oil & sprinkled with the salt & pepper).

    The recipes are almost the same.

    30 asparagus spears, trimmed
    Cooking spray
    1/3 t. kosher salt
    1/3 t. fresh ground black pepper
    3 T. butter
    1 T. soy sauce
    1 T. balsamic vinegar

    Melt butter in a small skillet over low-medium heat for about 2 minutes until its lightly browned, shaking pan occasionally. Remove from heat, stir in soy sauce and vinegar. Drizzle over the asparagus, tossing well to coat. Ready to serve.
