  • Crockpot Country White Gravy

    Crockpot Country White Gravy:
    Serves 8
    (Kick this up a notch by adding pieces of vegetarian sausage crumbles just before serving.)

    1/2 c.vegetable oil
    1/4 c.onion,diced
    3 cloves garlic,minced
    1/2 c.flour
    4 tsp.nutritional yeast
    4 T.soy sauce
    2 c.water
    1/2 tsp.dried sage
    1/2 tsp.salt
    1/4 tsp.black pepper

    In a small saucepan,heat the oil over medium-low heat.Add the onions & garlic,saute for 2 minutes.

    Transfer the oil mixture to a 4 quart slow cooker over low heat.

    Stir in the flour to make a roux,then gradually add the nutritional yeast,soy sauce & water,stirring constantly.

    Add the sage,salt & pepper,cover,& cook for 1 hour.
