Re: Chili's Memphis Rib Rub?
Hi ritarita and welcome!!

Yes, we have had some issues with ole Todd in the past so I understand what Steph had to do.

Anyway, don't dismay!! Here is a TRUE, from the inner city, Memphis Rib Rub! Give it a try and I bet you will be impressed.

Memphis Style Rib Rub

4 tablespoon(s) Paprika
2 tablespoon(s) Celery salt
2 tablespoon(s) Salt
2 tablespoon(s) Black pepper, coarsely ground
2 tablespoon(s) Cumin powder
2 tablespoon(s) Brown sugar, dark
1 tablespoon(s) Turbinado sugar
1 tablespoon Oregano, dried
1 tablespoon Cayenne pepper
2 teaspoon(s) Sage, dried
2 Bay leaf(s)
1 teaspoon Dry mustard

Crush the bay leafs and combine all ingredients.

Apply liberally before cooking and then I add some more after I mop. Finally a light sprinkling just before serving.
Dear BBQGURU,
I want you to know that a relative of mine used this recipe. He used his new Green Egg and I tasted the most unbelievable Memphis style dry rub ribs I have ever had! This is a fantastic recipe! Thanks!

This recipe (Chili's) has no red ingredients that I could tell. It actually looks like it's just rubbed with salt and pepper, but oh, there's more! I hope someone will be brave enough to suggest a recipe that is close to the secret one.

I've noticed that in perfumes and colognes the knock-offs never use the name of the original. They just say, if you like Brand X, you'll enjoy our Brand Y.

There's gotta be a way around it.
