I am looking for a BBQ Sauce recipe. We prefer sauce over rubs. Any help is appreciated.

I've really enjoyed the Rotel recipe. I generally use a stick blender on it when it is finished cooking to make it smoother.

    Rotel BBQ SAUCE

1 can (10 oz.) RO*TEL Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies
    1/2 cup ketchup
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    1/4 cup diced onion
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

In a saucepan, combine all ingredients. Heat to a boil; reduce heat.
Stirring occasionally, simmer 30 minutes or to desired consistency.
Brush on ribs or chicken during the last 10 to 20 minutes of grilling
or roasting. Makes 1 1/3 cups sauce.

Rubelishous - Sounds great! I've never started from scratch making BBQ Sauce. I've always taken Kraft BBQ Sauce and doctored it up to our liking. I will definately try yours.

I think I like this recipe from Kevin the best...

Kevi's Smokin' on the Mountain BBQ Sauce recipe
From the kitchen of Kevin Taylor, the BBQGuru
This is the one I use the most. It is sweet and has a nice smoky flavor to it.

        1/2 cup ketchup
        1/2 cup red wine vinegar
        1/4 cup brown sugar
        1/8 cup molasses
        1/2 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
        1/2 teaspoon salt
        1/4 teaspoon pepper
        1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
        1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Combine all ingredients and bring to boil. Simmer 30 minutes or till desired thickness.

I like this one. It's easy and fast. You can add a "little" liquid smoke if you like that flavor. I usually half this recipe.

          Zesty Barbecue Sauce

          1 TBLS. cooking oil
          1/4 cup chopped onion
          2 cups catsup
          1 cup water
          1/4 cup brown sugar
          2 TBLS. lemon juice
          1 TBLS. worcestershire sauce
          1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. horseradish (I usually leave this out)
          1/4 tsp. salt
Dash of hot pepper sauce (or more if you like it hot)
          Dash of garlic powder

Place oil and onion in a 1 quart casserole. Microwave on HIGH for 4 minutes or until onions are tender.
          Stir in remaining ingredients
Microwave on HIGH for 4 to 5 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
          Makes 3 about cups

Here's a recipe from a restaurant here...They made some of the best bbq ribs and steaks around...Unfortunately they closed after the owner passed away...I loved this sauce as a child when we went there...I make it quite often. It's easy and there's no cooking involved...It's also awesome on grilled burgers. Enjoy

            1 ¾ cups Ketchup
            2 tsp Chili Powder
            2 tsp Vinegar
            2 tsp Sugar
            ¾ tsp Cayenne Pepper
            1 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce
3 drops Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
            1 tsp Mustard

Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
            This recipe can be doubled.
