I don't think so. I did come across this recipe from a 1906 cookbook.

    BATTERED EGGS

Beat 7 eggs till light; take 8 tablespoonfuls of flour, 1 teaspoonful of salt; make into a batter with sweet milk; beat both together, then add 1 pint of sweet milk; put in pans and fry; put 1 tablespoonful of grease in each pan; put enough of the batter in a pan so as to be 1/2 inch thick when fried.

I'll send this to her, but if there are any other versions, I'd be interested!

Is that like scotch eggs? A hard boiled egg, encased in breakfast sausage, rolled in bread crumbs and deep fried?

    Battered Eggs

Anyone ever heard of battered eggs? My grandma was reading a book that mentioned them, and thought she'd like to try making some. She asked me for help in finding a recipe.
Thanks for the help, y'all are a good resource to have at hand!
