  • Fried Jalapenos

I went to a resturant called Norms here in So. Calif. the other day and they have fried japapenos for 25 cents so I tried one and it was great. Does anyone know if they just fry it in oil for a few minutes or what they may do different. I have a jalapeno plant and need differnent was to use them

Were they sliced and fried, whole, halves, stuffed? I make these fairly often, great on nachos, salads, burritos, tacos, anything actually, or just as a snack. I even add a few slices of onion in with them.

    DEEP FRIED JALAPENO SLICES

    1 CUP ALLPURPOSE FLOUR
    1 TSP SALT
    1 TSP PEPPER
    1 TSP CHILI POWDER
    1 TSP GARLIC POWDER
    2 EGGS
    1 CUP BEER
    2 CUPS VEGETABLE OIL
    2 CUPS SLICED JALAPENO PEPPERS

MIX FLOUR, SALT, PEPPER, CHILI POWDER, GARLIC POWDER, EGGS, AND BEER TOGETHER IN A BOWL. IN A DEEP FRYER OR LARGE POT HEAT OIL TO 265 DEGREES. DIP THE SLICED JALAPENOS IN THE BATTER. PLACE BATTERED JALAPENOS IN DEEP FRYER. THE JALAPENOS ARE FULLLY COOKED WHEN THEY FLOAT TO THE SURGACE OF THE OIL. THEY SOULD BE GOLDEN BROWN AND CRISPY.

They where whole. Seems like they were just sauted in oil but I'm not sure
