Does anyone have a tried and true homemade root beer ice-cream recipe that they would like to share? I’ve seen some on the internet but would like to try one that someone else on this board has tried and liked.

Not T&T but from the Food Network. One of the viewers wrote in to the website: "traded the vanilla for a tablespoon of root beer extract....It came out wonderful!!! Worked great in my ice creammaker."
Old Time Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe
courtesy Emeril Lagasse, 2003
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups whole milk
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
Pinch salt
Good quality chocolate, for garnish
Whisk all ingredients together until sugar dissolves. Pour into the bowl of an ice cream machine. Freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. After the ice cream is made, transfer to an airtight container. Cover tightly and freeze until ready to serve. When ready to serve, make chocolate curls using a vegetable peeler. Serve ice cream garnished with curls.
