  • Ham Slices w/sauce?

I am going to have a brunch the beginning of August. I would like to make a ham but I don't want to get up at 4 or 5 am to get a whole ham into the oven. Does anyone have a recipe for ham slices that I can put in a sauce (pineapple perhaps or raisin sauce) the day before and just reheat the day of the brunch? Certainly, someone out there has a great make-ahead recipe - I'm even open to other suggestions.
I'll be making quiche, potato casserole, fresh fruit, apple bake, pineapple casserole, champagne punch, bloody marys - any other add-ons? Thank you in advance to anyone that makes suggestions.

I have a cherry sauce somewhere that is yum on ham. I will dig it up and post for you. IMO
i wouldn't do a pineapple sauce if you're making pineapple casserole. Sorry...I'm an incurable bossy boots.

Great...the cherry sauce recipe wasn't where it was supposed to be. I'll keep looking.

      Here's a Raisin Sauce:

      1/2 C brown sugar
      1 Tbsp. cornstarch
      1/2 tsp. cinnamon
      2/3 C raisins
      1 Tbsp. butter
      1 C water
      2 tsp. lemon juice
      1/4 tsp. dry mustard
      1/4 tsp. ground cloves

Combine brown sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon in saucepan and mix well. Add remaining ingredients and heat over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Serve with ham.

How about buying a pre-sliced (cooked) ham that is available in most grocery stores. They are precooked & sliced. The you can top it with your favorite glaze & heat it in the oven
