  • Flavored Rum - What to Make? Drinks or Otherwise

I have lots of flavored rum and I'm wondering what to do with it all... I once made a orange-flavored rum bundt cake that was delicious but the recipe has gone missing. Open to any and all ideas, whether for drinks or for meals. Some of the flavors include chocolate, orange, pineapple, coconut, and banana. Also, I have pineapple vodka and a pistachio liqueur. What could I do with those, too? I'd love a punch idea, as I am having a BBQ on Saturday. Thanks

My daughter adds flavored rum to wine coolers. Last night, for instance, she had a strawberry daquiri flavored wine cooler, and added some pineapple rum to it.

Here's a good drink...I'm sorry, I can't remember where I got it from. I'm thinking you could use other fruit flavored rums with this one.

      Summer Rum Slushes
      6 oz. peach flavored rum
4 oz. frozen limeade concentrate (undiluted)
      1/2 c. pineapple juice
      4-5 strawberries (hulled)
      2 c. ice
      strawberries for garnish

Combine rum, limeade, pineapple juice and strawberries in blender. Add ice cubes a few at a time with blender running. Blend until slushy. Pour into glasses and garnish with strawberries.

I've never had flavored rums so I don't know if this would work, but how about injecting the chocolate rum into fresh strawberries? (It works with Vodka)

          MaryJo,

That sounds YUMMY! How do you do that? (I have flavored vodka, too.)

I just use a "flavor injector" needle meant for meats. Simply fill and insert the needle and pump the vodka or rum in. I learned this "trick" from a coworker who pumped strawberries with vodka, then dipped in melted chocolate, for a party.
