Re: sour cream sauce
It's your lucky day Jewels!!! I don't have who posted it, but I printed it out to try sometime, and it happens to still be beside my computer here at home. This is typed exactly like it was posted. Don't understand the "use 12oz of chicken broth and etc." Maybe she was meaning use chicken broth, veg broth, beef broth, etc. ????
The Sour Cream Sauce
Webmex-recipes.com
A rich white sour cream sauce for chicken enchilada recipes. Lets make this easy! If we use 12oz carton of sour cream then use 12ozs of chicken broth and etc. 1 heaping tbsp of butter, pinch of cumin, 1/4 tsp of garlic powder or 1 diced garlic clove. Salt to taste, 1/2 tsp should do it.
Bring to a boil. Slowly add 4 to 5 tbsp of flour dissolved in cold water, using whip or cooking spoon, till desired consistency. When using flour or corn starch, I will always mix more than I use, easier to throw away some, than to have to stop and mix more."Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent." ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Re: sour cream sauce
Here's another sour cream sauce that's pretty yummy if you love garlic....
5 large cloves garlic, finely minced
3 Tbsp butter
3 Tbsp flour
1 (8oz) container sour cream
1 can chicken broth
Melt butter and saute garlic over med-low heat till soft. Be careful not to burn the garlic as it will become bitter. Stir in flour and cook for a few minutes to make a blonde roux. Stir in chicken broth and cook until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream.
Serve over just about anything.
This is great with enchiladas, browned chicken pieces cooked with onions and mushrooms, or even tamales. In fact, it would probably be good smeared on a bumper...lol
