    Peanut Butter Pie XIII

    Yields: 8 servings

    "A simple egg and milk custard is cooked up on the stove. When it begins to thicken, creamy peanut butter and dash of vanilla are swirled in. This luscious custard is then poured into a pre-baked pastry shell and chilled. Top with freshly whipped cream and a drizzle of milk chocolate syrup."

    INGREDIENTS:

    1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked
    3 egg yolks, beaten
    1 pinch salt
    2 1/2 cups milk
    3/4 cup white sugar 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
    1 1/2 cups sweetened whipped
    cream (optional)

    DIRECTIONS:
    1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together egg yolks, salt and milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until warm.
    2. In a small bowl combine sugar and flour. Mix well and gradually whisk into milk mixture. Continue to stir mixture constantly until thickened. Remove from heat.
    3. Add vanilla extract and peanut butter to milk mixture. Stir until smooth. Pour into baked pastry shell. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving. Top with whipped cream if desired.

      Snap I made some yesterday. I never wrote the recipie down, just kind of whipped it out of what I had on hand, but I always make it the same way now.

      1 pk instant vanilla pudding

      1 c heavy cream

      1/2 can sweetened condensed milk

      1 cup of peanut butter (maybe a bit more if it looks to thin)

      gram cracker crust.

      Additional whipped cream and chocolate syrup for topping


      I beat the cream, untill is is about half way to whipped cream, then add vanilla pudding and sweetened condensed milk. Beat untill well mixed, add peanut butter, mix for around 2 min. Pour into pie crust. Chill for 2 hours. Top with additional whipped cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup.

        My SIL makes this one.
        SERVINGS: 8-10

        CATEGORY: Dessert

        METHOD: Baked

        TIME: Prep: 20 min. + cooling

        Ingredients:
        1-1/4 cup chocolate cookie crumbs (20 cookies)
        1/4 cup sugar
        1/4 cup butter, melted
        FILLING:
        1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
        1 cup creamy peanut butter
        1 cup sugar
        1 tablespoon butter, softened
        1 teaspoon vanilla extract
        1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped
        Grated chocolate or chocolate cookie crumbs, optional
        Directions:
        In a small bowl, combine cookie crumbs and sugar; stir in butter. Press onto the bottom and up the sides of a 9-in. pie plate. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
        For filling, beat cream cheese, peanut butter, sugar, butter and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Fold in whipped cream. Gently spoon into crust. Garnish with chocolate or cookie crumbs if desired. Store in refrigerator. Yield: 8-10 servings.

            I will have to go through Mom's recipes. She has one like I have never seen like it and it is really good...
            Will have to post it later.

                  This is one I made for years. now I make a diabetic one.

                  Peanut butter Pie

                  1-8oz cream cheese
                  3/4 cup powdered sugar
                  3/4 cup chunky peanut butter
                  6 TBS milk
                  1/2 tsp. vanilla
                  1-8oz cool whip (thawed)
                  1- graham cracker crust.

                  combine cream cheese,powdered sugar,and peanut butter: beat at med. speed until well blended.(3-4 mins)Add vanilla, and milk.Fold in cool whip spoon into crust.For a festive look,sprinkle grated chocolate or chopped peanuts over the top. chill at least four hours before serving.

                      Here's one more for you...I have two of them in my frig right now. I don't make the crust anymore, I buy the graham cracker crust by keebler.

                      Peanut Butter Pie with Fudge Topping

                      CRUST:
                      1 Cup graham cracker crumbs
                      1/4 Cup butter, softened
                      1/4 Cup sugar

                      FILLING:
                      8 oz cream cheese, softened
                      1 Cup plus 2 tablespoons powder sugar
                      2 tablespoons butter, softened
                      1 tablespoons vanilla extract
                      1 Cup peanut butter
                      1/2 Cup chilled whipping cream

                      TOPPING:
                      1/2 Cup whipping cream
                      6 ozs semisweet chocolate, chopped

                      Generously butter 9-inch pie pan. Mix all crust ingredients in medium bowl. Press mixture evenly in pan. Refrigerate 1 hour.

                      For filling, best with electric mixer -- cream the creamed cheese and peanut butter in large bowl until well blended. Add 1 Cup powdered sugar and butter - beat until fluffy. Beat cream in medium bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add remaining 2 tablespoons powdered sugar and vanilla and beat to stiff peaks. Fold 1/3 of cream into peanut butter mix to lighten. Gently fold in remaining cream. Spoon into crust. Refrigerate until firm, about 3 hours.

                      Make topping - bring cream to simmer in heavy small saucepan over low heat. Add chocolate and stir until smooth. Cool to lukewarm. Spread topping over pie. Refrigerate until firm -- about 3 hours. Cover.

                      Can be prepared 1 day ahead.

                        I just made Nommie's today for my new recipe to try and it was very good. It just says sugar and I did use granulated sugar but I see most other recipes say to use powdered sugar. It was still very good with the granulated sugar so I guess it don't matter what she meant by just saying sugar.

                          Peanut Butter Pie with Chocolate Honey Glaze

                          Ingredients

                          For Crust
                          1 1/4 cups finely crushed pretzel crumbs
                          1/2 cups sugar
                          1 stick melted butter

                          For Pie
                          6 Reeses Cups (or more if you like)
                          1pint whipping cream
                          1/2 cup powdered sugar
                          8 oz. cream cheese softened
                          1 cup creamy peanut butter
                          1 cup powdered sugar
                          6 tbsp. milk
                          2 tsp. vanilla
                          1/2 cup peanuts

                          For Glaze
                          2-tbsp. peanut butter
                          4-tbsp. honey
                          chocolate syrup

                          Directions

                          Make the Crust
                          Combine well and press into a 9" pie pan. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove and cool completely.

                          Make the Pie
                          1. Chop Reeses Cups and spread into cooled crust.

                          2. Whip cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar and whip until peaks are stiff. Set aside.

                          3. In large bowl, cream peanut butter and cream cheese. Add powdered sugar and combine well. Add milk and vanilla and beat for one minute on high speed.

                          4. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture until completely blended. Spoon into pie shell on top of Reeses Cups.

                          5. Garnish with peanuts or as desired. Pie must be refrigerated for at least four hours before serving. Store leftovers in refrigerator.

                          Make the Glaze
                          Combine peanut butter and honey until blended and smooth. Add chocolate syrup until desired consistency. Serve over individual pie slices.

                            DinDin, for that particular recipe of Nommie's, use granulated sugar. I have made this recipe numerous times.

                              The nutter butter pie that I posted in tried and true a while back is really good. Its almost just like the one Nommie posted but it has Nutter Butter cookies as the crust.
