Have a craving for Greek salad. I've only ever used a bottled oil & vinegar dressing but, would like to try and homemade dressing. Anyone???

    This one is REALLY good.

    3 teaspoons dried oregano
    3 teaspoons dried basil
    2 teaspoons ground black pepper
    2 teaspoons salt
    2 teaspoons onion powder
    1 teaspoon ground mustard
    1 teaspoon rosemary
1 1/3 cups red wine vinegar
    Directions
Simply pour all ingredients into a container (bottle is best).
    Shake vigorously until well mixed.
    Store tightly at room temperature.
Shake again as needed for further use!!

      Re: Greek Salad

Having many Greek friends the salad is easy.

I use torn up romaine, sliced tomato, peppers (some use cucumbers and olives). Sprinkle on oregano, olive oil and lemon juice. Mix and taste - use more oil or lemon as you choose then sprinkle on feta cheese.

This was excellent! I did add some pressed garlic and some fresh lemon juice, mixed that with the oregano and olive oil. I didnít have any cucumbers for the salad because I used those in the Greek dressing for the Gyros. I cut this back and made it fresh two nights in a row. Needs no salt as the feta and the olives are salty enough. We could eat this every single night!

1 Handful Olives (Greek Ė pitted, sliced)
        1 Item Onion (red)
        1 Pinch Oregano To taste
        1 Pinch Salt To taste

Cut the vegetables in slices and mix in a salad bowl. Top with the olives, capers and oregano and cover with "crumbled" feta cheese.
        Pour the olive oil evenly.
