Re: Round Steak

I always try to make it very thin if I can't find it that way. Then I put garlic powder & lemon pepper and then quickly skillet fry in a pat or two of butter. Make sure skillet is HOT!

My mom always made it this way growing up and she would serve corn with it. We called it steak with butter and corn......so now my son calls it the same thing or sometimes lemon pepper steak.....but he does not care for corn.

      Re: Round Steak

I almost forgot about steak fingers.......cut into strips, soak in buttermilk & egg then dip into seasoned flour (I just use black pepper) and fry......serve with mash potatos and a veggie

I always had a problem with round steaks, Elk, Deer, or Moose. Always tough to eat. They don't BBQ well. I tried everything. My wife laughs at me. She won't eat my wild game. too gamey.

My smart a$s wife decides to make fajitas in a frying pay. She goes to the store during covid, and buys beef round steak, cuts it up into little strips, and does the whole Mexican thing. She starts eating it and spits it out. the meat is too tough to eat.

So she finally admits it's the round steak cut and not the wild game gaminess. Some cuts are just meant to be ground up. not eaten as a steak...
