    Try asking if you can get a side of just the sauce, it may be easier to dissect it without the flavors of the seafood to work around. Also, and this is sneaky, if I'm just not sure of ingredients I will ask if it has some particular ingredient because I'm allergic to it. Its a hard way to narrow it down but worth a shot if nothing else works.

    Thanks everyone for trying!!! The filo dough isn't the problem, it's getting the sauce and correct ingredients just right to put in the filo dough.

    The recipe you provided Chefkel seems similar and certainly is worth a try. Maybe I'll have to get my DH to take me again to this restaurant very soon to try and "dissect" it again. Better yet, since Father's Day is coming up this weekend, I'll have an alterior motive ;-)
    Maybe I'll even get up the nerve to ask for the chef's recipe. Although, I don't know if restaurant's frown up that request or not.

    Bummer.. I did a search as well.. with no luck.
    I would just wing it and try it at home.
    sauce I would use butter & cream & paprika maybe a bit of nutmeg

    I Googled for a recipe for you with no luck, I'm afraid. The only thing I found was a restaurant menu description (note the spelling): Seafood En Chemise -Shrimp, Scallops, Fish & Crabmeat in a Light Cheese Sauce Wrapped in Filo Puff Pastry

    On another site, I found the definition of chemise as applied to food: chemisŤ: literally, a shirt, refers to foods (like chaud-froid) that are coated or wrapped (also en chemise)

    It appears that there are several restaurants that offer "Seafood en Chemise", but no one is sharing their recipe, it seems. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

    Seafood En Chamese

    Hi everyone! I'm looking for a recipe that might be comparable to one DH and I absolutely LOVE from one of our local restaurants here in Harrisburg, PA.

    It is the most delicious thing called "Seafood En Chamese". I believe the owners are Greek, so it would makes sense that they wrap this seafood mixture in filo dough. It's log shaped and the mixture inside is different types of bite-size seafood such as (I believe) shrimp, lobster, crab, and maybe some other things like cod or flounder, etc. The sauce everything is mixed up with is a creamy sauce with possibly butter mixed in.

    I've tried to find this recipe everywhere on the internet and other internet cooking message boards with no luck. However, I've never asked on this one. I'm afraid I won't be able to find something comparable because it could just be a specialty of this restaurant or region only.
