    Does anyone have the recipe for Publix Mardi Gras Chicken? I think it is baked, but am not sure. Please let me know. I have to go to a neighborhood party tonight!

      I looked too and I only found this, which isn't much help as they didn't complete the recipe instructions!!!

        I'm unable to find the recipe on the web, but at the deli at the Publix in Hixson, TN they sell item #22230, Mardi Gras Wing Spice in a bag for $3.89 It's made by Leggs Old Plantation Seasonings, A.C. Legg, Inc. I've not yet opened it but I'm going to mix a few table spoons with butter and brush some chicken thighs as I bake them.

          I'm going to Publix tomorrow morning and I'll look at their
          recipe cards to see if I can find it for you.

            I bought a very large bag of the Leggs Old Plantation seasoning mix from Publix in Atlanta 2001 and I am down to my last little bit. It works well. Sprinkle seasoning on wings, bake at 350 until done and viola! You have the most delicious wing feast imaginable.

            My Publix in Atlanta no longer sells it to the Publix :-( so I am searching for a new source. I even checked the Leggs site, but no success. If anyone can help, please post.

              I was lucky enough to get a a deli person to sell me a small bag...about 8 oz for 2 bucks ... In feb 2011, i go to publix at least twice a week and ask every time and am told they cannot sell it i called legg's and they told me it is made especially for publix and they will not sell to the public. Anyone finding the recipe please post it, thanks, barb

                I came up with something I believe is real close. Sprinkle dried Rosemary and lemon pepper over the wings and bake for 45 minutes. At the Falcons tailgate my song thought I had been to Publix for them.

                  I saw this today on another site - they said the recipe came from Publix recipe card at the store...haven't tried yet tho':

                  Publix Mardis Gras Cloned Chicken Wings

                  2 tablespoons olive oil
                  2 tablespoons butter
                  2 tablespoons finely chopped shallots
                  1-3 minced cloves garlic (we use 3)
                  2 teaspoons dried rosemary
                  1/2 cup lemonade
                  1 teaspoon black pepper
                  1 teaspoon salt
                  10 to 12 chicken wings

                  Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

                  In a small saucepan, heat oil and butter over medium heat. Add shallots, garlic and rosemary and cook 2 to 3 minutes. Add lemonade, pepper and salt. Simmer over low heat for 6 to 8 minutes or until slightly reduced and syrupy. Cool slightly.

                  Meanwhile, cut chicken wings into three pieces, discarding wing-tip joint.
                  Place wings in shallow pan and coat well with sauce. Bake until skin is golden brown, about 30 minutes.

                  Makes 20 to 24 pieces.
