  • Friendly's breakfast potatoes

I'm new to this site & love it already! Thank you for all the great recipes & commentary. Does anyone know how to make Friendly's breakfast potatoes?? Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside & tender on the inside. Thx!

I've never eaten at a Friendly's, so I don't know what seasonings they use. But the way you describe the texture of the potatoes makes me think they probably don't start with raw potatoes. I always had trouble getting them just right if I used raw potatoes -- when the outside was just right, they were still too crunchy on the inside, and by the time the inside was tender, they were too done on the outside. At some point, I started preboiling my potatoes, at least partway. It makes all the difference in the world. The time in the frying pan or on the griddle gets the outside nice and brown and finishes cooking the inside. I hope you find the recipe you're looking for!

That's exactly what you need to do to get them to cook evenly. As far as seasoning, just use what you like. I usually use garlic powder, Cavender's Greek Seasoning, seasoned salt and pepper.
