    Twinkie Cake & Filling

    INGREDIENTS:
    • 1 box yellow cake mix
    • 1 cup water
    • 1/2 cup oil
    • 4 eggs


    • Filling:
    • 1 cup milk
    • 5 Tbsp. Flour
    • 1 stick oleo (room temp.)
    • 1/2 cup shortening
    • 1 cup white sugar
    • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
    • 1/4 tsp. salt

    METHOD:
    Cake: Mix all ingredients and beat 4 minutes. Pour into (2) 9-inch greased and floured pans. Bake at 350 deg. for 30 minutes or until test comes clean. Let cool. Split each layer in half to make 4 layers. Apply filling to each layer including top. Filling: Mix flour and milk in saucepan. Cook on medium heat until consistency is pudding consistency. Cool completely. Beat oleo, shortening and sugar until creamy. Add flour mixture to creamed sugar mixture. Add vanilla and salt. Beat until fluffy. (This may take awhile but is very important it reaches the fluffy consistency). Keep refrigerated until ready to use and spread over each layer including top of cake. Keep cake refrigerated.

    NOTES:
    This cake can be made with any flavor of boxed cake mix. Chocolate is really good.

    8-10 servings.
