Beer Cheese Spread
8 oz. (2 cups) finely shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teapoon hot honey mustard or Dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
1 garlic clove, minced
1/3 cup beer
2 T. margarine or butter, softened
1. In food processor bowl with metal blade, combine cheese, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ground red pepper and garlic.
2. Bring beer just to a boil in small saucepan. Pour over cheese mixture in processor; process 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or just until blended. Spoon into serving bowl. Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour to blend flavors.
3. For easier spreading, let cheese spread stand at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve with assorted crackers.
