  • 40 Minute Rolls

    From Reiman Board

    40 Minute Rolls
    2 Tbsp yeast
    1 cup + 2 Tbsp warm water
    1/3 cup oil
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
    1-2 cups white flour

Combine the yeast and warm water. Add the oil and sugar and let sit for 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and knead until a soft dough forms. Shape into balls and place on a greased baking sheet. Rest 10 minutes. Bake at 425 for 8-10 minutes until done. Makes 12 rolls.

That Looks Good. I Use To Have A Recipe Called Batter Buns, You Mix Up A Yeast Dough, Put It In Muffin Tins, Let Raise 30 Min, Then Bake. I Lost It And They Were So Good. So Hopefully This One Will Replace It!!! Thanks Nommie!!

The Package Tells You, I Think It's 1.25 Tsp.

I think this is one where you might be better off to use the yeast in the jar???

                i want to try it ! think it's bread-machine-friendy ?

also, that's a ton of yeast! 2 tablespoons for 2 cups of flour? are you sure it's not teaspoons instead ?

I thought it was alot of yeast, but I copied and pasted-no typo from me and the recipe was getting rave reviews.

Maybe The More Yeast, Because It Doesn't Rise As Much? Don't Have To 2 Risings, Punching Down In The Middle, So It Will Rise More The First Time?????

One package of yeast equals 2 1/4 teaspoons. I got it right off the package.
