    HERBED CREAM SAUCE

    Serve this cream sauce over hot cooked pasta.

    Preparation 5 min.
    Cooking 6 min.

    Ingredients:

    1 Half Stick of LAND O LAKES® Butter (1/4 cup)
    1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    2 cups LAND O LAKES™ Half & Half or milk
    1/4 cup chicken broth
    1 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning*
    Hot cooked pasta
    Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
    Salt, if desired
    Pepper, if desired

    Instructions:

    Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat; stir in flour until smooth and bubbly (30 seconds). Add half & half, chicken broth and Italian herb seasoning. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens (5 to 8 minutes).

    Serve sauce over hot cooked pasta; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Season to taste with salt and pepper, if desired.

    *Substitute 1/4 teaspoon each dried oregano leaves, marjoram leaves and dried basil leaves, and 1/8 teaspoon rubbed sage.

    Yield: 2 1/2 cups
